You prolly need the fuel sync set, if you have a nice scan tool you can do it, but best to leave that to a shop.
What is it doing?
Put it at TDC. Remove dist cap and make sure rotor is pointing at #1. Then when you get it running, take to shop to set fuel sync. (Should not turn dist....)
there is nothing you can do at home to adjust the timing unless you have a very expensive scan tool. the only thing turning the distributor does is adjust the fuel sync.
OK so its running now but when u hold the gas it misses an then it will start back fire. What does the fuel sync do. How much does a garage charge to do it. An where do they hook it up at
That sputting and backfire could be fiel sync. What it does is times the fuel injection into chamber at the correct time to allw for proper combustion. Computer plugs in at the OBDII port. Don't know what it costs...I have a computer that can show this. Sorry. Maybe someone else will chime in that had to have this done. It is pretty fast, so shop time should not be much. Mine took about 10 minutes (including pluggin it in and setting.
