Default oil pressure light/low idle

ok so iv been searching for answeres here looking through older posts but cant seem to see anything like my problems. first off i have a 97 2500 4x4 5.9l gas new motor with 1800 miles on it. new oil pump, new oil pressure sending unit.

so i start my truck while the motor is cold and warming up to temp my oil pressure reads normal and no light comes on. once at temp the oil pressure guage moves while accelerating and at idle while stopped it drops and the light comes on some times the needle drops a little some times all the way down like it was off. now at idle in drive my rpms read about 6-700 always. when the needle drops and the light comes on i can touch the gas and add another 200 rpm the pressure jumps up to normal and the light comes off. at idle in gear when the pressure drops and the light comes on i can put it in park the idle jumps to about 7-800 and the pressure comes up and the light goes off. is my idle too low? is there away to adjust this or do i need to have the fuel sync done? i never did the sync when i put the motor in. just did tdc on #1 set the dist and dropped it in fired right up and have no back fires or anything but will admit at times i think it feels sluggish.

kind of stumped here its scary to see the pressure drop and the light come on but i hear no bad sounds always sounds normal and never feels funny either. any and all advice and help is greatly appreciated.

It's normal for the oil pressure to fluctuate when driving. Min idle pressure is approx 40-41psi. Have to ask you have checked the oil level when it's cold and been sitting for a bit? Have you had any codes? And yes the idle is to low and will cause the low oil pressure..

Did it come with a manual? WIthout knowing what the scan tool is, not much way we can know if it will set fuel sync.
