Default long bed on short bed chassis anyone?

Has anyone ever put a long bed on a short bed chassis?I can weld so Thats not an issue,I just like the long bed look so if its too much of a hassle no bigge.
Anyways anybody?Thanks

I think long beds have a longer wheelbase. Youd probably have to lenghten the frame. Unless the truck is an extended or quad cab. But then the cab would have to be changed also.

Bed mounting bolt holes won't line up. Gotta do something about that!

Long bed on a SWB, + wheelie bars.

The weight distribution would not be good with a payload.

Yeah I've seen a long bed on 35 20s lifted 8 inches it was sweet!

Your chassis is too short and so is your wheelbase. To make it go you'd have to hack a section out ahead of the fenders, then weld it back in behind the fenders, and it would look hillbilly as hell like that. And probably be illegal, too. But even if legal, it'd still be hillbilly. So just don't even think it again.

The long bed has about a foot more bed between the cab and the wheel. It won't fit.

Im pretty good@doing fab work I do body work &paint so that part a no brained...but suspension isn't one of my strong suits...I do know a fella that dose section&channel work Ill see if he can look @ it.No bigge I just like the look plan on buying a cummins after taxes so Ill just buy a longed then.I also like Dallas but can't find a reason that I need one.I don't do much towing&when I do its firewood or a motorcycle &I just through them in the bed so actually only the wood a few times a year.
