Default To Chip or Not to Chip?

I have a friend who has offered me a chip that controls the fuel mixture and all for my truck. It has the economy, towing, and power. I would invest for the economy setting but someone told me that it didn't really work for gas burners... So would it work and is it worth it to buy? He is selling it for $150. To chip or not to chip; that is the question.

Nother $100 gets you the SCT with 3 canned tunes. That's what I would do.

x2. i don't trust chips. they usually modify the signals to your computer which could cause damage to things. i think a tuner that properly adjusts timing and amount of fuel injected is the best way to go.

Be nice to know exactly what "chip" we are talking about here! If there is 3 setting's then it's most likely a tuner.
