I was saying something in another thread a week or two ago about how in the south all anyone cares about is volume. There is no regard for whether it actually sounds good or not. I don't understand. Louder is not better.

True. Some trucks around here sound like they have fart cans on them. Blat blat blat....sounds awful. I'm sure if these guys could hear their trucks from the outside at wot, they would change their minds about open exhausts.

It's kinda funny: Around here we've got scads of ranchers, farmers, and working cowboys who regularly haul livestock trailers, trailers full of hay, and so on, truly working their trucks. None of them are running around with loud exhausts. But we've also got an energy extraction boom going, and when a guy pulls up at the convenience store with a crappy loud exhaust it's certain he's going to speak with a Texan or Southern accent. We live about seven tenths of a mile off of the highway and we can hear the bastages from here.

Yes I agree with the loud pipes! Every one around here has either true duals straights or glasspacks and they sound like crap honestly. One other guy and me are the only kids at the high school who has a muffler( not glasspack) for exhaust and we are the 2 loudest and nicest sounding trucks at the school.

We do care bout if it sounds good sometimes lol. Ifts hard to explain. We love the loud, popping sounds that sound like a pissed off dog bark and growlin at ya. My truck may have 18's and all and is loud as mess (burntout glass packs) but around here, everywhere I go people are like "Dang man, that sounds so good)... Its got tone to it instead of straight crappy noise. Personally I love the popping sound but heck thats just a redneck thang haha

Flip the manifolds cut a couple holes in the hood a couple tractor exhaust flappers and you're in buisiness you'd prolly even shoot flames it'd be extremely loud
