So got the transmission and transfer case ordered, they will be here early November... So the swap will take place in November. Hope it isn't too cold out there... I don't have a shop heater yet! The automatic decided it doesn't like first gear anymore either... So it is stuck in third... Just have to get a few things done around the farm before it decides not to like third either...
Oh yeah... Not much to update, but got some ramps so that the truck will be a little higher off the ground for removing the tranny... Transmission could be here any day now. Other than that nothing till I start tearing it apart, which will either be tomorrow or Monday.
I had the same issue with delayed shipping when I ordered my Light duty NV4500 through them. They almost didnt know what it was... Shoot your probably the only one they've sold since mine they are so uncommon!

Hmm... Well they told me 10-15 days, at least it got here in good condition! Looks beautiful... Best I can describe it! LOL... Pulled half the dash apart, pics later today...
So now I am wondering which lubricant to use in the NV4500? ManTrans told me to use 75W90 Full Synthetic GL-4 gear oil, but allpar.com says to use 75W85 full synthetic. Which place should I believe?
There is hardly a difference. The important part is that it is a GL-4 lube. Either use Castrol synTORQ 75-90 GL-4, or Amsoil 75-90 GL-4. Those are the only two recommended for an NV4500. Neither are cheap, but the amsoil is cheaper. I use it. The syncros in an NV4500 are very picky, so if you do not use GL-4 lube the trans will eat itself.
