Angry tune up gone very wrong need advise

hey guys i was getting a number 8 misfire on my 98 ram with the 360 so i thought it was time for a tune up. i started on the number 8 plug and broke it off right away luckly i got it out pretty easy with a ez out. number 6 came right out number 4 broke right off. at this point i have tried heating to the point the threads wer glowing red it has had almost an entire can of pb blaster on it but it will not budge i have broken every 3/8 socket i could barrow (it fits the ez out) so then i welded a impact socket to the ezout still no luck istead i broke the ez out off right below the square section. i have to drive my truck all week on 7 cylinders but does anyone have some tricks that might help before i pull the head off next weekend? also i know the intake bolts will need to be replaced but what about the head bolts are they torque to yeild also? btw i did unplug the injector to number 4 and the broken ez out has the hole completly pluged

I've had good luck running a chunk of iron pipe onto seized spark plugs, something just big enough to clear the ceramic and rest solidly against the metal plug body, and bang on that with a hammer for a while. Not so hard to damage the threads, but hard enough to crack the rust locking them together.

As for penetrating oil, try Aero Kroil, CRC Knock'r Loose, or CRC Freeze Off. Any of the three is better than PB Blaster. Give one of them a shot after the hammer trick and let it soak for ten or 20 minutes before going after it again.

Busting borrowed tools. Shame on you!

If you're driving it on 7 cyls, unplug the dead hole's fuel injector. You don't want to wash the cylinder and cause more problems. Best bet is to not drive it until it's fixed.

i did unplug it but don't have the option not to drive it. i have to be able to work luckly i live in the country and can take the back trails and it's only 6 miles each way

Just a note on the #8 misfire. Blown plenum ,clogged cat, bad o2 sensor, carbon on the valve's and maybe a cracked head as a result. Just sayin' .

i'v allready fixed the plenum problem with the after market plate. the cat is hallowed out.i haven't been pulling any other codes.sometimes it will go a week without the no8 misfire other times it's back right away. my scanner has the freeze frame deal and the codes is always at 640 rpm. now back to the broken plug after i don't know how many hours under the hood and 2 broken ez outs i eneded up buying the $50 heli coil kit got it drilled out cylinder all cleaned out put the insert in with high temp rtv like the directions said and the damn thing leaked. plulled the sparkplug back out and the insert came out with it. reinstalled it with red loc tite let it sit an hour before putting the plug back in and it still still leaked. ulled the plug out again and the insert came out also.what now???? i am really thinking about jb welding the plug and insert in and just planning on replacing the head if i still have this truck when it needs plugs again. also i did not touch the left driverside bank as i am scared there gonna snap off also

I'm thinking add the info about what you have done to your truck to your sig. Of course phone posting sucks. And also getting a new head or two from clearwater. You are not going to patch that thing.

ok now i'm really confused i ended up putting a little jb weld on the threads of the heli coil as a band aid fix and it barely leaked. if i sprayed somthing at the base of the plug it would bubble a little bit. the truck was running fine then all of the sudden i'm pulling a p0300 random mis fire code and the truck started shacking like crazy as soon as i hit overdrive and the rpms dropped. first thing i figured was the coil went bad yet again because it has gone bad twice before and both times pulled the same code and acted the same way. so i put a new coil in and now i'm getting a p0300 random misfire, p0304 #4 misfire and p0308 #8 misfire anyone have any ideas?
