Do a search.... Here ill help: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...um-thread.html

Also after you pull the throttle body and check for oil in the intake, you can clean the throttle body itself and the Idle Air Control valve.

I changed the spark plugs and fuel injectors but the motor 3.9l v6 is still running rough ..the code says misfire on number 6... The plug wire is good, new plugs, new fuel injector . I need help...what should i do next? This is a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500.... We checked compression and it's good but motor runs rough and will not pass emissions test.

Default Misfire on number 6

My check engine light came on so I had it checked and it showed there was a misfire on number 6.... This is a 3.9l v6 in a 2001 DodgeRam 1500. I replaced all the plugs and a fuel injector....checked the wires and no problem....the compression is good too....totally don't know what to do...it failed emissions test today...the motor is still running rough...

Did you pull the #6 plug out and compare to others? Double check gap on that plug? How did you check wires?

Default Running Rough

The mechanic checked wires and said there is not a problem with them...he pulled the number 6 plug and said when you put it back in it doesn't fire....it seems like something is wrong with the slot it goes in....compression was good but it wasn't firing right so it causes the truck to run rough....I may have to take it to someone else but just hoping it's not an engine problem that will cost a lot to fix...it's not the plug or wire , it's has something to do with that area it goes in...any ideas?
