Default Rear Driveshaft Yoke

Didn't change the u-joints when I knew I should have... U-Joints failed and took out the drive shaft yoke which slides into the transfer case. A new yoke is $390 from the dealer... no part stores around here carry one... and can't find the right one at the salvage yards.

Any aftermarket websites you guys know of which might carry one? Or any other creative solutions?

Thanks,

-Fourstop

Yeah. Most likely no responses here because they don't know what truck you're talking about. 1500, 2500, and 3500 or a Cheby!

With a some helpful searching (since the OP has posted a few times in the past), he has a '96 1500.

FourStop -- Go to top of this forum and find link for USER CP. Add Year, Model, etc. information to 2 places: Edit Signature and Edit Profile. Then your truck info appears for ALL your posts going forward.

Here are some link for some helpful info to learn about what you got. My recommendation is just like Patt's, find a local (as possible) driveline shop(s).

http://dodgeram.org/tech/specs/Ramspecs.htm

Parts Manual available to download so you can find your part in question -- https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...s-manuals.html

Factory Service Manual to assist you further, in addition to your Haynes manual: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...e-manuals.html

You have 231 transfer case. By your description of the part the yoke is on the transfer case.

Let us know how it goes.

I know it was from back in the day but nice DIY thread you did on t-case pull/install..it's the little things like the getting the loaner kit from advanced to install the seal that makes the difference..Thanks for adding it!!

So I gave Robert a call at mintonmotorsin.com and he found me the right part after an hour... for a great price too.

I couldn't match one out of the junkyard stock around here, and the dealer had an outrageous price for one.

I also found this website:

http://www.quad4x4.com/dodgerds2500-...1994-2002.html

They seem to have quite a few parts for Dodges and their customer service department was helpful as well.

Thanks for help folks, and remember... change your u-joints when they first start squeaking and clanking... don't wait six months...
