I was backing out of my parking space this morning, when i put the ram in reverse It made a noise as if the transmission was humming, also when accelerating i can hear a slight whine especially in lower gears.

well i checked fluid level in neutral after going to work and it was in the good range. yet after inspecting lines to the heat exchange in the radiator i found that the lower transmission hose is leaking a small amount. guess i get to remove the check valve now.

A little seepage at the connectors is pretty normal and wont cause the whining, which btw is pretty normal. You might try looking in the DIY section for "check valve removal" . Not saying that's it(the whining), but something that can't hurt to do.

zman i have been wanting for a reason to start to remove the check valve after reading the post in the diy section. i guess all the noise might just be normal since it is only when i first start up in the morning to leave.\

Drive it until that 46re dies. Meanwhile, removing the CV can only help. And most tranny shops(good ones) will also remove it when replacing the trans.
