Default Please help

Hey there I have a 98ram 1500 with a 5.9 that had a diesel radiator put into it. Here is the problem it will not get near operating temp and te heater sucks because of it! Even tried covering it with cardboard and it still will not get to operating temp. It has a 180 degree tstat in it as well. Is this to much radiator for the truck??? Please help me out here I'm stumped the temp gauge only get up to around 150 ish

play it smart and put the regular radiator in it and a 195 t stat for good heat, remember also dodge isnt the best for heat but they never run hot!

The problem is not the radiator. Like previously stated, your thermostat is causing the problem. If it opens at 180*, the engine will not heat up to it's 195* operating temperature. Swap in the right thermostat and your problem will be resolved.

Ok I will try it for sure but I am still wondering the tstat that's in it is only 180 and the temp does not even get close to that! But I guess the best thing I can do is try it and see where that gets me

How do you know it doesn't get near that temp? If it's really so extreme, are you sure it even has a stat in it?
