Hi all.
Looking at installing a 95 v10 engine into a 01 truck that has a bad v10 in it.
Are the engines/electronics interchangeable?
What about the 47re vs the 47rh trannies?\
Will the 01 computer run the 95 engine and tranny?
I searched but did not run into this info.
Thanks

I doubt they will interchange easily, especially the tranny.
Iwould think if you swap ecu, tranny, engine, it would work. but not pieces.
You could download the parts manuals for both years in the FAQS section and compare parts but I am confident they will be different.
FWIW the computers are different based on tranny, emissions, engines and some other things I cant remember.

Just use the 95 longblock assembly, swap your 01 intake and exhuast manifolds and run it with the 01 harness and ecu. Forget about the transmission, just keep the 01 47re

So the trannies are totally different?
The reason I would want to use the older tranny is that I know it is good.
The newer one is very high mileage and in unknown condition.
The manifolds have different sensors in them I assume.
Thanks

'95 is hydraulically controlled, '01 is electronically controlled. Not a chance of them swapping.

Thanks. Old motor should bolt right up to the newer tranny. Right? Converter to flywheel and bell housing...
