Fluid leakage - unsure if brake or power steering
master cylinder looks dry to me. there's a stain near the back of it, but no wet track coming down from above that i can see.
since you've not reported lack of brake pedal, then if it is the brake, it has to be coming from the unpressurized reservoir, not from the high pressure lines.
i'm still thinking power steering. it looks like it has sprayed, or blown, back onto brake booster. if you wipe it down with brake cleaner and drive around the block does it show up again immediately.

Let me go see what happens
Update:
After two trips around the horseshoe, the bottom of the master cylinder is bone dry. Looked around, felt the ps lines, back of the ps fluid reservoir, can't find or feel anything wet.

ps caps have been known to leak when closed! It happened to me..sorry I just remembered. It happened when the truck was off. I was installing the front hub assembly and turned the key (not to run) to turn the wheels to the top bolt. Did
it a few times and I guess it built up pressure and some squirted out..Stewie rocks!

Thanks Patt. Gotta go out again tomorrow, will see what I've got then. I did notice an area on the ps reservoir that has evidence of fluid running down it, and it's running down the right side when standing in front of the truck, so if that was leaking it's plausible that air could send the fluid flying backwards and every which way. So maybe the cap is the problem or part of it.
Time will tell.
Time will tell.
when you turn the steering while the truck is off fluid is pushed out the gear box into the reservoir and if it is full enough it overflows. i have spilt my share of oil while steering my truck while it was off.
Alright, she came home smokin today, again...
The area directly around/beneath plugs 5 & 7 is soaked again, looks like oil of some sort, block directly beneath the valve cover is dry. Oil level is at the same location as it was when I last checked, a squeak below Add.
Large puddle of the same fluid on the starter as well.
I'm gonna pull those plugs and see what the plugs look like. Area around the power steering pulley is dry.
Perhaps it's just a coincidence this all started after I hooked the heater core back up. Both times that shes leaked enough fluid to puddle and burn on the exhaust the radiator cap is cold to the touch, but the rest of the radiator is HOT, especially the passenger side.
Coolant isn't low, and there is fluid in the reservoir.
This is getting annoying.

Update, even with the radiator HOT, I could still take the cap right off without any issues. Full of pretty green fluid too.
Back to the leak, I can't explain why there is oil gathering at spark plugs 5 & 7. Here are some pictures:
Shot of the back of the block:

Took out #7 spark plug, there is oil or fluid gathering there, but I can't find where, don't know how it would get there if it was ps fluid or even brake fluid.

Area around ps pulley, fairly dry, little drip on the frame:

#7:

Heat shields, 5 & 7:

In the one picture it does look like there is fluid path going down the valve cover by #7 plug, I felt it, it really wasn't wet. The grommit for the PCV Valve has always leaked a bit since I changed the valve out. And just for ***** and giggles I pulled the PCV Valve, it's opening and closing as it should, or isn't stuck anyway.
I've got no noticeable fluid loss from anything; motor oil, brake fluid, ps fluid, or engine coolant.
I'm lost.

I FOUND IT
Dh, spot on man, power steering.
It's the fitting in the first picture. Must be leaking on the bottom side, lots of fluid under there, pics to come.
Lil f&cker

Gonna stock up on power steering fluid, if I could keep it from getting blown onto the exhaust manifold until we got to Va I'd be happy. Don't wanna a smokey 8hr trip
