help with centering steering wheel&airbag issue
I'm wondering how to center my steering wheel since I did my new gear box.I guess I must of did something wrong since the steering shaft is keyed&so is the shaft from the gear box.Not sure what I did.I took the steering shaft off before&never had this problem. Can I just get the wheels straight&pull the shaft&turn the steering wheel till it matches up or what can I do?I recently about 2-3 weeks ago got a alignment&new track bar I'm wondering could it just be because the alignment be the reason?Seeings they were working with a junk gear box? Also I don't wanna be going down the hwy &the airbag blow up in my face espically since my kids are usually with me so can I just pull the air bag fuse to prevent this?My airbag light has been coming off&on since I bought the truck&awhile back the cruise went out so I'm thinking its the clock spring but just wanna disable it for now till I address the clock spring.
Heres a pic of the steering wheel position with the wheels straight. Not too bad just annoying. Thanks guys

The adjusting sleeve next to the pitman arm will adjust your steering wheel. Have the wheels straight, key in the on position so the steering wheel is unlocked, but not running, loosen the two bolts on the sleeve, turn it one way a few times and check which way the wheel is turning. If need be, turn the sleeve the opposite way. Once the wheel is straight, tighten the bolts on the sleeve to lock it in place.
As for the air bag, you can pull the fuse. Whether it will work or not, Im not sure but I think it would. Just be sure to disconnect the battery first and turn the headlights on to drain any power left in the system. Just a small jolt when pulling the fuse could set the air bag off. Better safe than sorry.

From what I've read this morning it wont mess with the alignmentb If the truck pulls straight your good to go.I hate messing with those adjuster tubes, last time I had to heat it up&use some huge channel locks to get it to budge...that was the one for the tie rod on drivers side never touched this one.
