Default Odd wire and stuff

I believe this to be some kind of "aftermarket" something or other and was hoping someone would know what it is off the top of their head.

It doesn't seem to have any purpose... it comes out from under the dashboard and up the pillar. I haven't really had the time or energy to trace it back yet.

Pics aren't that great.

Thanks

Dan

Maybe an antenna for remote start?? Hard to tell. Youll have to trace it to know for sure.

Wire goes to this, I guess it's some kind of aftermarket alarm / remote start device, there are no markings on it aside from a wiring diagram. Almost afraid to take it out for fear I may mess something up. :/

Looks like a rats nest for sure. If you remove it, you will have to know which wires to splice back to allow it to run. If it is not causing a problem and you are not very experienced in wiring and reading schematics, I would leave it.

I bet that button on the box is a valet switch to enable/disable the alarm (if it is even an alarm).

I'm pretty sure it's an alarm as well, there's a red led at the end of a wire in that mess as well. I zip tied everything neatly together and left it for another day :-/

I want to put a remote starter and key-less entry in.... now it looks like it got a bit more complicated.

And to make matters worse my wife just put cranberry sauce on my turkey sandwich .... blech.

Thanks for the help

Dan
