Transtec and Transgo. Pretty good. Not a house brand. The only thing they do not offer is high temp frictions, but you don't get those at a tranny shop unless you request it (and pay more) and even then, you pay for the std kit and pay extra for the HT frictions.
So what you heard is possibly not accurate.......what the heck....what you heard is wrong. Too often people trash a vendor without valid basis. Some products are low quality, some are not.
Well that trans you told me to call about in florena is $800. With every hardpart needed to do the swap, the grand total is $1500. Is it worth it?? Plus Im dirt poor so I believe I will be doing alot of work to get that little bit.

It was Des Moines, Cedar Rapids and St. Louis.... Hey, sometimes you have to do some legwork if you are on the cheap. 
I drove to Mt. Pleasant for an engine last Sunday and the week before that, drove to Des Moines for one... Much like the OP, Im broke. At lease Im too broke to buy all new. Not saying that buying all new/reman isnt the right way, its just not the only right way. You can still build a safe, cool truck without breaking the bank. Thats all Im saying. The guy asked about doing the swap and made it clear that money is tight. I think we should emphasize the ways to get it done as cheaply as possible without hillbilly building it. No 2X4 pine transmission mounts! Lol.

My dad is being very opinionated about this trans deal. He wants me to try to adjust the bands on the gears but with how weak the gear is, I believe the teeth on the gear is ground completely out. Is it even worth taking a crack at adjusting the bands or changing that gear?? Btw, my transfer case also grinds like nuts when you arent careful in shifting it.
