Okay Low idle, the IAC opens up and seem to be running rich take it out and try to drive it backfires through the intake. try to hold at even speed the the engine looses power starts backfireing throught the intake, stomp it to the floor and it will through you in the back seat and run great untill you try to drive normal.
Okay... does your idle quality seem okay at initial cold start-up, then go to hell about a minute or so later?
Just so you know, you can go to your previous post and click the edit button - instead of numerous posts to reply. I use it way too often (as I remember something only AFTER I click the Post Quick Reply button...(or I notice my crappy spelling....)
Yep thats exactly what it does, sometimes it might take 2 or three mins to start acting up.
Easy fix! Replace the upstream oxygen sensor. Use only Denso, NTK, or a dealership part. The rest are too iffy right out of the box.
I always replace upstream and downstream sensors at the same time, but it's not absolutely necessary to do so. The downstream sensor sits in a cleaner and hotter exhaust stream so it doesn't foul as soon as the upstream sensor.
