Check all grounds and make sure the crank sensor wasnt broken or damaged in trans removal and installation... Also make sure the wires didnt get pinched

Yeah I ran out of light when I posted this but before I did I had checked all grounds and what not. Gonna check the crank sensor first thing in the morning. The old starter would spin but wouldn't kick out which is weird because I started it up 2 days ago before I started the swap. Hell idk.

Does the solenoid(sp) kick in and the just won't turn are is it dead as you turn the key? Any way you could have shorted the battery so there's not enough juice to turn the starter?

Maybe your bad starter killed the batt, it could have enough to turn your lights on but not enough amps to turn your starter?

It it's a rebuilt, wouldn't be the first time I've seen a bad one out of the box.

test new starter by wiring with jumpers directly to battery and see if it kicks. If it does then you should start checking for loose or shorted wires in the starter circuit, starting with the starter relay. So the starter makes no noises when you turn the key?

Okay so I found the problem and it's all running now. When I pulled the starter out the first time I didn't notice there was a jagged *** piece of metal hanging off the frame (still don't know where it came from) it cut one of the wires I spliced back together and bam I'm drivin again!
