I just finished with a transmission swap and I've noticed my gas mileage is f***ing terrible compared to what it used to be seems like I'm getting 8-10 mpg on this 98 3.9L compared to my usual 15-20? Any ideas it isn't running any different all the kinks are finally worked out besides this now but this gas mileage is ridiculous lol

 

Trans swap, eh? Crawl up under there and make sure no wires for the 02 sensors were pinched. Considering the pre-cat 02 wires like riding on the trans I wouldn't rule out that they might be pinched.

If that's not it, you may have a clogging cat if you haven't replaced your plenum.

 

O2 sensor is mashed.. Guess I need to replace lmao. I'll get back with you after that and I don't have a cat on mine I bought it with straight pipes.. -_- don't say anything I know LOL

 

So I'm guessing you did what I said and crawled underneath it?

A mashed 02 sensor will def. reak havoc. I am guessing pre-cat like I said prior, right?
