Default 2000 1500 Ram

I started my truck to check my lights and pulled a burnt headlight to get number and put back in. Now the truck will not turn over at all. I hear a light hum when I try to start it. Replace starter and same thing. Note: I have a after market remote start, does the same thing using that. Any Help???

I'm a neophyte, but I'd make sure the battery & connections are good first thing. My guess the "humming" is the fuel pump but that should stop after a few seconds.

Does it at least "click" when you try and start it?

Did you try starting it in neutral?

check the big fuses in the black plastic power distribution box. its beside the battery. make sure you are getting power to, and through the starter relay

Just wanted to add that I did look at all connections in the area and also the battery connection and charge. Checked fuses and tried to start in neutral.

is it a tiny little click from the pdc (relay)
or a medium click from the starter (solenoid/bendix thing).
or a hard click (bendix gear thing hitting the starter ring.

did you reconnect 2 wires to the starter?
small wire with a plug in connector.
big fat wire from the battery. be careful around this wire. disconnect it from the battery when working with it or else its LIVE.
