Well in order to keep every one safe on the road i might as well get the right housing for HID. So what do you guys think would be a good housing for it? Any recommendations?

Any aftermarket headlight assembly that is described as "projector" style (sometimes called halos or angel eyes) will be better for the HID kit than the stock headlights. Obviously the quality of these assemblies will vary depending on where its bought. The projector lens is designed to cut the HID beam off so it stays below the eye level of other drivers but still allows for much better visibility. Here's what some for 2nd gen rams look like:

If it was me, i'd buy them from a website like this, and not some ebay auction. I had an ebay pair on my old grand cherokee that started to weather and peel after a year (and it was parked in a garage!)

p.s. the projectors with the black housing look much better when installed, IMO

I've got no input on replacements other than no one here that DOES replace their housings (projector or other) provide feedback on what ones are adjustable. I recall one person got replacements and they were NOT adjustable.

For example...my adjuster screws (bottom of the lamp) are both seized and I've stripped the heads. If anyone has tips for me on resolving these jerks let me know. As of now I'm thinking of getting my rotozip with cutoff wheel to cut a slot for a flathead screwdriver.

Being lifted higher later, I need to retain adjustability for the sake of myself and others.

I bought a set of 1 piece black housings off ebay before. They had adjustments for height but not for left/right. The light output sucked as well. They were not projectors.

I ended up getting OEM replacements from amautoparts. They have all adjustments and I have no complaints.

Theres todays review.

The best thing that I have found, is to wet sand with 1000, then 2000, and follow up with clear automotive enamel outta a spray bomb. That's what the dealers do, then charge you up the yin yang. I have done this on my truck, the kids car, and wifey's Lexus, and the look like new money.

DUDE! Nice! pretty decently priced too, and they come all pre-wired with hid's just gotta plug and play. Damn, I'm buying me a pair. Thanks for the link.

Just to piggy back on what Davie said. I bought the black halo headlights, and they look 20x cooler than any picture says. Unfortunately I bought the ebay ones and within 3 months the left side low beam was non-working. And I never got the chance to run HID's. The bulb burned out quickly, I figured it was because they are wired wrong. But F it. I will just buy a set of these bad boys. That's a steal, I paid $98 (free shipping) on ebay. But for a $100 more you get a GOOD headlight + HID. That's a steal.

I'm assuming these would be wired right?

P.S. I think I have pics of my Ram with halos let me look. Oh! Before I forget, mine were adjustable up and down, but no side to side. And they were not for sports so they didn't fit the best.

Amen brother. Makes me want to carry a pair of scissors around with me, so I can cut them off, and throw them on their windshield with a note that says "I just castrated your truck. Get a life."
