Default New Headlights/HID?

Hey guys,

Im in need of new headlights for my 97 1500, the current ones absolutely suck. I cleaned the lenses and stuff but they really just need to be replaced.

Now the thing is I was looking into HID, really like the brightness and look of the 8000K lights. Now do i have to buy a whole new assembly to install the HID? I think I need to anyways since the lenses and insides are dull. But could I install the HID on for example this set? http://www.headlightsdepot.com/produ...X#.UMARQtPjmMw

Or do i have to buy a specific housing? I really would like the same style housing since the modern looking housing dont really fit in with the rest of the truck.

If you want HID, go with projector housings. Otherwise youll be blinding the hell out of everyone else on tthe road.

And FYI, 6000K will give better visibility than 8000K.

Okay what kind would you suggest? I might go with the 6000 actually since im not to big of a fan of the blue tint that the 8000 have

I think there are a few guys on here with the more expensive Ebay housings.

Cheap gets you what you deserve in most cases: sh1tty housings.

I think I have to look into new lights also for mine. Mine are really dim and I just got new lights but I have to clear up the lenses. is it true that toothpaste will work?

Yeah.

It won't get them perfect but old school Colgate works wonders with a bit of elbow grease. You're still better off wet-sanding them but in a pinch it works. It won't get rid of the yellow, but it will get rid of the haze, which is what does a majority of the light-killing.

Have a look at these http://www.headlightsdepot.com/produ...H#.UMBEVeRZXrw used with these http://www.piaa.com/store/p/59-9004-...gen-Bulbs.aspx and these http://www.piaa.com/store/p/62-9007-...gen-Bulbs.aspx then add a relay package to go with it all.
