Can I use a 2wd trans in my 4x4 Ram?

Default Can I use a 2wd trans in my 4x4 Ram?
I cannot find a 46re 4x4 trans anywhere near me. I did find a trans out of a 98 2wd Ram. If I buy it will it work in my 97 4wd truck?
I have a 360 motor, and the 2wd has a 318.
I know my 4wd wont work, I dont care really, I just need to get my truck going so I can drive it.

You would need the driveshaft from the 2wd truck as well. Should work....

It's not going to bolt up the transfercase. You can take out the transfercase and then run a really long driveshaft but that would be really dumb.

Are y'all saying it's not gonna work Just cause I can't bolt up the transfer case?
I'm Fully aware the 4wd won't work if I use a 2wd tranny I just wanna the damn truck

I dont see why it would work.. You will need the driveshaft from a 2wd truck like yours... Idk if the crossmember is in the same spot either.. something you are going to have to look into.
