the code has came back after every step...
Should the lower rad hose be warm? I think I'm going to buy a bluetooth scanner and see what temp the pcm is getting from the coolant sensor...

i used an infrared temp gun the other day to measure hose temp for someone. when it was all warmed up and about 50* outside, these were my temps. it wasn't an exact science, but something like this
top hose at t-stat - 175
top hose at rad - 150-160
bottom hose at rad 100-110
bottom hose at waterpump 120
bottom hose was barely warm to the touch.
how much is a bluetooth scanner? link?

The scanner ranges from about 25-99..and you use the torque app on your phone to read the data...look them up on amazon.com......
Well now it seems as though my heat is not putting out much anymore and the temp gauge wont go over 130..I ran it for about 30min.. I squeezed the upper hose and it was rock hard.. opened the rad cap and it sprayed out a few drops. (Luke warm fluid) im getting scared about driving it now because it has to be warm somewhere and im worried that the motor is overheating and going to blow.....

Given the current climate...... the gauge is probably correct.
Since the gauge is reading that low, that's what the computer thinks too..... (same sensor.)
The thermostat controls temp. It has either failed, was misinstalled, or something similar.

I am having the same problem after a reman PCM. I do remember installing a 'stays open if it overheats thermostat' during a water pump replacement about a year ago. I would love to know if the new thermostat fixes it shaggy.

Ok I have a final update on this..I went ahead and got another thermostat this time from the dealer..got a gasket from O'Riellys and 2 gallons of coolant. Drained and flushed the Radiator, put the new thermostat in filled the fluids...Walla...been 2 months and running steady at 190*
I was curious as to what was wrong with the old thermostat so I tested it again and when the water temp from the stove hit about 205* a bunch of dark grey goo came out of it...I imagine this was the wax that makes it work because it started to open up then as the goo came out it started closing again..So I guess that's all it was...I just wished I would have trusted what dhvaughan and HeyYou's told me sooner!!!
