Yay, my catalytic converter clogged!
Fired her up yesterday and I noticed my exhaust was really quiet. Well, I couldn't rev past 2.5k and could barely hit 50mph. Quick fix was to drill some holes in the cat to get me to work because my Mustang doesn't see snow or salt. It's loud...
So I'm gonna go with the JEGS Off Road Y Pipe. You guys like them? Since I'm in MI I don't need to pass emissions.
Also, how much louder does it make your truck?

i started by surgically gutting my cat, then reconnecting the pipe behind it. it sounded like ****, clattery, like i'd installed a motorcycle expansion chamber...
next i got the jeggs y-pipe. it fit perfect. i used a couple of walker sleeve type clamps to avoid permanently crimping or welding the pipes. i wanted to leave my options open to remove or change things. one 2 inch, one 2.5
where the y-pipe attaches to the exhaust manifold studs, i used plenty of anti-seize on the studs and was a little too tentative and didn't torque them tight enough the first time. it had a nasty sounding leak, so i went back and retorqued them correctly to quieten that.
i've got the stock muffler and exhaust pipe turnout - and its a lot louder than i expected at the exhaust pipe. not too loud at the drivers seat, but when in a garage or passing a wall on the right, its a lot louder than i expected.

Haha, so true... so true.
And yes, I fixed my plenum without replacing the cat. It was still flowing okay so I didn't bother at the time. I have an aftermarket muffler on it that's pretty aggressive so I might need to tone it down after this... or not.
