Loose noise under my 1998 Ram extended cab
^^^ 2 piece DS is only found in 2500 and 3500 models not on a 1500 so don't go looking for a hanger/steady bearing. Got a spare tire under there still? take it out see if that helps, grab the exhaust shake the sh** out it, get in the box and jump up and down see if you can make the sound, box bolts checked, bumper bolts, hitch, wheel nutz, hub caps have rocks in them, if you have hub caps of some flavor.

You first need to check and see if you even have a 2 piece drive shaft, somehow I highly doubt it.

He has a 4wd never had one in it, 2wd yes they had 2 piece shaft.
I didn't know the leaf springs had bushings in them. I'll check that also.
I also noticed this evening it seems more like its right behind the cab or the rear of the cab. It's just still strange that it only does it when the rear wheels hit the bump or even uneven pavement.

Check front lower shock mount bolts, exhaust and exhaust heat shields, gas tank straps, bed and body mounts and steering column bushing where it exits the firewall under the brake booster, tranny and or transfer case mounts. Also remove the tail gate and see if it still makes the noise.
