if you wanted to do it, it would not be too hard. the hardest part would be choosing what circuit you want to activate the relay and finding the headlight power wire. i have thought about it but decided not to. now before i would consider even doing this it would probably be a good to put your headlights one relays so there is not as much stress on the crappy factory wiring.

did you get a chance to download the service manual? I was looking at mine and the headlight switch breaks the ground. Does it do that on a 97? I was thinking that sounded easy enough to break with a relay powered off of any circuit like cig lighter or radio. Maybe they changed the wiring between those years, mine is a 01
