97 cutting out. puzzled.

You don't get TCC lockup, and your engine revs a bit higher for whatever speed you happen to be going. Should also set a code.

Check all the connections at the trans, and PCM. A poor connection might give you intermittent engagement.... with would feel kinda strange while driving.

That's what im doing today. When I played with the power leads to the msd, it only did it once.
