What are emissions laws like where you live? What year is your truck?

You will fail emissions.. Not our truck and not our fines that you could receive.. Just cut it out and replace it with a pipe... you will have a constant CEL but since you dont care about laws I figure you wont care about the light... Your truck will also run like ****... But Im gonna take another guess that you dont care about that either...

You will have two O2 sensors then, one pre-cat, that you need, and one post cat, that you can fool into thinking the cat is still there. See the non-fouler trick in the DIY section.

You can remove the cat whenever ya feel like it. Hollow it out, replace it with a piece of pipe, or, get the off-road y-pipe from jegs, or summit. (flows better than stock, and no cat.)
