There are so many other factors to consider. I like the extra power but its still a 5000 lb pickup truck. Enjoy the power it does give.
What? Yours is only 5K lbs?? hahahah

Yep, he had stock everything. He even tears the crap outta the truck. But maybe if i get a high flow cat, headers, and a ypipe it might help some more.

I do like the power the sct give me for sure but i wanna be able to beat a chevy.

Yup. The AirGap usually runs around $600 but I think it's a complete kit. The Mopar M1 last I saw was around $300 but you have to buy the kit to use it with our throttle bodies..

I used to have a '98 K1500 with Vortec V8, it had loads of power and was quick..

Sorry bro, a bit backwards.

AirGap requires an adapter for our TBs. I think you have the price about right.

M1 no adapter required, only kit that is for vacuum plugs, IM bosses, brackets. Total is roughly $500

Hey what can I say? I don't have a lot of extra stuff on mine. At least that's what the registration says about my truck. It might go up when I get in though!

Maybe I am a little late, but... I am running a 180* tstat without SCT or any tuning and 2 ranges colder plugs than stock. Truck has no trouble starting in the cold weather, heater is hotter than ever as I was able to flush the cooling system (the tstat that was in it was sticky). I have not gotten any codes, just got rid of the annoying fuel knock.

So I got the tuner tonight, plugged it up, went for the 93 tune, installed no problems. Did a quick round the block test. I can notice something different, not sure what yet. I'm not spinning tires off the line that some are claiming. Have noticed shift points changed just a little, seems about 5 mph higher than normal. So far so good. I have to consider the fact my truck never had the death flash. So some of those claimed gains could be more noticeable for some. I'm going to play around with it for the next couple days. I got the 87, 91, and 93 tunes in mine.

EDITED 20 minutes later

Curiosity, I put the 91 tune in, and notice better results through mid range, pulls great at WOT through 2nd and 3rd gear, shifting almost at 4900 rpm. I might have to stick with this one. Revs up great in park, better than the 93 tune did.

Pretty sweet! I've got a DeathFlashed '01, and hope to join the SCT crowd later this month, possibly February. Whenever Tax Refunds goes out
