Default Electronics & "LIMP" Mode

I"m going to assume any engine / drive train electronics can trigger a limp. Whether it be motor limp or trans limp.

My question is, could a whining water pump bearing throw the transmission in limp?

Thanks

Nope.

That's usually a trans. problem by itself.

Seems like the truck is having some serious performance problems.. Might want to consult your choice of doctors...

On a more serious note.. NO a waterpump will have nothing to do with a trans in limp mode.. Seems you have a few different issues to address and figure out..

P1757 Gov Solenoid is the only code autozone received.
Brought it to a local tranny shop. Unfortunately, he was swamped and unable to work on it. He did however provide a matched solenoid and sensor. Then wished me good luck on my way back to florida from Connecticut~!
I am not certain it was the water pump. Might be worse.... Torque converter perhaps. I'll find out tomorrow when I drop the pan again.
Thanks

If you are getting governor solenoid codes..... need to fix that first. Governor solenoid is what controls shift points.

As for whining noise, most likely it is a water pump, but it would not throw the tranny into limp in mode. FYI, if the tranny quits or is erratic in shifting, unplug the tranny electrical connector, should be 8 pins IIRC. You will then have to manually shift the tranny but it can help you get it home.

For those who don't remember me, I was here around 6 months ago or so with the same problem. You all so generously guided me to the right repair. I received my solenoids from my local dealer in Gainesville FL.
I got the transducer in a box in a sealed bag with a little trans oil. I found it "odd" that the gov solenoid didn't come with any packaging~!
Anyway, It got me on the road for a while.
The parts I got from the trans shop here in Connecticut both were in boxes & sealed bags.... Wonder how that happened?
Anyway, I took the pan down and found a porcupine hiding in the corner of the pan:-( Desperate, I cleaned everything up real nice, cut away at the solenoid block a little, (more like a slight bevel) Who designed this crap.... 2 screens deep and only a fraction of the top screen that sees fluid~! All while doing some floor tile, a little sheetrock / mud, door install, You know all that boring stuff.

So I put it all together with a bottle of Lucas.
I know I'm going to have to baby the heck out of this 1100 mile trip if I want to not make my truck leave me stranded.. But It seems to be working better than ever.
I read one of the treads where someone was saying how their truck doesn't come out of overdrive at all on the highway. This is what I'm getting since the grind out. Seems to be locked in pretty tight.
Any other suggestions you gentlemen may provide for me to make it home IS greatly appreciated. Thinking about leaving in a couple hours.
Thank you all again for your helping people in distress~!
Party at my house tomorrow night, Your all invited~!
Drinks are on the house. Everybody on the roof :-P

I gather the fine metal around the magnet would be from the bands and drum? "The shavings" embed in cloth like grease.
Does this look bad? How long do I have?
I guess I'd better start looking for another. Then have this one rebuilt. I can't afford to be down more than a day.
Think I should start studying rebuild videos too.
Thanks
