How exactly are you all getting you MPG ratings? I personally know how so I'm not asking as to "how to do it". Rather how is it that your doing it. Last thing I'd want is for false info to make it's way threw the DF.

The rating, being the pedantic bitch that I am, is whatever the EPA said it was. I calculate my fuel consumption as miles on the trip odometer since last fill / gallons to fill, corrected for odometer inaccuracy due to oversized tires. My speedo runs five percent slow as compared to two different GPS units on flat, straight road and confirmed many times.

So for my truck: (trip odometer miles * 1.05) / gallons to fill.

I also calculate my mpg using my trip each time I fill up.

Calculate. How else would you get real world mileage?

Calculate. Duh. How would YOU do it? Fill the tank to full when the gas pump clicks. Right down odometer mileage, run it for 40+ mi non stop, then fill up to full again, write miles, and do the math. If into the wind or something in the bed, 14MPG. Hills do not seem to effect mileage on this thing, as it would lug hills out in O/D on the old auto. Until the engine lost power... 20MPG is the best gotten with this rig.
