Interchangeable?
I have a truck currently with a bad 52119517AA
I acquired a 52118427 for free. Are these interchange able? From the list i copied from the original post it seems like they are the same.

Need Help Identifiying my tranny from 1998 1500 5.2 RWD
OK first off this is going to take me a little while to get all this on here. I'm going to put every thing I have about matching up transmission numbers. I got some of this info from a family member who works at the transmission plant in Kokomo Indiana, and the rest from different places. A few things to remember when looking for another trans. In mid 99 they changed some of the electronics.96 and up A500, A518, and A618 use the same governor pressure solenoid. 96-early 99 A500,A518,and A618 use the round metal pressure sensor or transducer as some call it. Late 99s and up use the black plastic 1.
96 -early 99s use the same OD & lockup solenoid. late 99s and up use the same OD & lockup solenoid. 78 -98 uses a round black neutral safety switch with 3 pins. For 99s they changed the neutral switch to a rectangular white plug with 3 pins. In 2000 they changed to a 5 pin big plastic switch
If you look above the pan on the drivers side there will be some numbers stamped on the case most of the time they start with PK. The next 8 numbers are the part# for that transmission. Also if there's fins above the rear servo it's a A618. Diesel and V10s have a moon shaped cut out at the bottom of the bell housing for a bigger torque converter.

MY 80yo neighbor has been taken for a ride by a shade tree methhead mechanic. I've decided to intervene and assist in repairing his transmission. I'm having difficulty identifying if this unit is electronic or hydraulic.
The unit is inscribed with PK52119514AA 3251 6211
I would like to buy a master rebuild kit and torgque converter. Would like advice on which parts to buy and where? I'd like to avoid the ebay chinesium stuff if possible. Any suggestions on any and all parts that should be replaced would be great. your time and assistance is GREATLY appreciated!
Does the stamp on the bell housing mean anything?
I suspect the two brass fittings indicate hydraulic actuation?

It appears that transmission in the photos is an early model 46RE. All of the Chrysler transmissions are hydraulic with electronic solenoids from '96 - on. Be sure to get the solenoids/electronics kit that match the year of the truck/transmission/PCM, otherwise you will encounter operational issues.
2nd gen trucks with the 46RH transmission came in the '94 - '95 trucks.
You can obtain parts from https://transmissioncenter.net/ and/or https://www.wittrans.com/
As for the torque converter, I sent my core to these folks and they will build whatever you need/want - https://gopnh.com/
I wanted enhanced towing and they provided a very nice, trouble-free converter for the job.

46RE. The two brass fittings are the cooler lines. Front is output, rear is return.
Check out TransmissionCenter.net. Look at the various Viper kits. Though, if it's an 80 year old man, a stock rebuild would likely be adequate to the task.
What needs replaced depends on what happened to it. Only way to know for sure is to tear it down, and have a look. Other alternative (cheaper.....) would be just tossing a junkyard trans in there. 96 to 99 46RE would be a direct bolt-in. Unless it's a 4x4, then it would be 96-97, and maybe an early 98..... due to transfer case shifter mount moving. (older, it bolted to the trans, newer, it bolted to the body, and the mounts weren't there on the trans any more.)
