stalling problem please help
Hello, i have read other threads on stalling problems but havent found one like mine. I have a dodge ram 5.9. When i am driving up my driveway and going about 2 - 3 mph or less and i let off the gas. The truck will drop below 500rpm or stall out. Also i was driving to work everything was fine and all of a sudden it sputtered very bad and was missing so i shut it off and had it towed home. When i got it home i started it and it ran great like it did before Ive heard about the iac or something like that. But im not sure if thats my problem..

Pull the throttle body off, clean the throttle body and the idle air control valve (and the port the IAC sits in). While you have the throttle body off, get a flashlight and look at the very back of the intake for a pool of oil.

Have you done anything maintenance-wise to this truck since owning it? If so, what?
Any changes in sensors? Has it been sitting?
I'd offer a check on fuel pressure (schrader valve on driver side fuel rail), I think it's b/t 40-50 psi for nominal.
Part of my thinking in addition to Matt for consideration is: O2 sensors, Bad Cat

Time to click on the hyperlink Matt Nickerson provided ^^ up there if you haven't already.
If still stalling after cleaning TB and IAC, physically remove the O2 sensor. I take it you have a '95, right? If so, just one O2 sensor, screwed into the front of the cat. See if it runs a little bit better.

Not hard to do as long as you don't break the head off an intake bolt as some people seem to do. Just follow instructions and torque the intake and plenum pan bolts properly and it should go well (hasn't gone well for me even after two attempts at it but that's a diff story).
It's gonna take you a while if you don't know why your doing. Somewhere in the 10 hour range, unless your a fast worker and you got a helping hand.

Okay i pulled the tb off and cleaned everything and put it back on so i can take it to my dads to work on it. He has a pole barn and in michigan its very cold right now. But the thing is its 5 hours away. This seemed to help with the stalling at low speeds and runs better. But im leery and dont wanna get. stuck on the side of the road with a 10hr job. There wasnt that much oil but there was some. Is there anything short term just to get it up there so i can buy the hughes kit everyone is talking about?
