Default cold start woes

Yesterday after work I got into to my truck and started it, immediatly I noticed it was running really rough. It was rocking the truck it was so bad. Got out popped the hood and it sounded like there was a vac leak, checked around didn't find anything loose and noticed the the noise was coming from my intake. Was it warmed up everything went away and felt like the beast it usually is. This morning same thing rough idle loud sucking noise till it go warm. Today after work same thing. while sitting there waiting for it to get warm I played with the throttle a bit, took it up to 1500 rpm and try to hold it, nope went down a couple hundred came back up and repeat. Let off the throttle and it almost died. I live in salt lake city, we've been in the low teens high singles. Please help im worried bout my baby. Thanks in advance

Got a scanner that can read real-time data handy? See what your PCM thinks engine temp is at cold start. It should be REALLY close to ambient.

That may be a problem.....

Is it trying to flood out? Or, just RLS?

I would be tempted to just replace the temp sensor the PCM uses, and see if that doesn't improve it's attitude any...... (it's the two wire sensor on the drivers side of the thermostat housing.)

Yeah, let us know. It might be as simple as a loose connector on the sensor too.... check that before spending money.
