Let it coast down a big hill in neutral.. only way you will get 20+ mpg in.these old pigs

i think fix the plenum, replace o2 sensor, cat and install a standard transmission ,dual electric fans and possibly some narrower low rolling resistance tire on my ram charger and i could get 20mpg on summer gas. i have seen 18mpg as it is.

Hey, i have gotten 20MPG on this 5.9L after a fresh tune up. Not too bad but that is without a lot of getting into it.

Been driving 140 miles everyday this week, and from what I've been calculating I'm getting approximately 13 MPG. Thats about 90% highway 10% in-town driving. Consistent 70 MPH. Thats with 285/75R16's, 3.55 gears, stock timing chain, stock O2 sensor, possible bad plenum, out of alignment, and winter gas. Damn, imagine the possibilities after I get these other things fixed lol.

the Hughes plenum was put in now just running this tank of gas down to see if the mpg improves
