Default what's your average mpg?

I have a 97 1500 5.9 with 33s and I'm only averaging like 8.5, I has flowmaster 44s put on, new cat, and plugs and wires, just wondering what everyone else is getting and how I could improve mine a little bit

Averaging around 26.2 mpg, but that's because I've got a stage 4 JET chip. Currently running 53" michelins and 3.55 gears. Mostly city driving with a lot of idling time and some drag racing.

edit: this might help https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...um-thread.html

That's about what I get when I'm pulling my gooseneck trailer with the track hoe on it. The Komatsu is a little lighter than the Cat was. With the Cat on there I couldn't get better than 24MPG.

Guaranteed plenum is bad unless you fixed it.. Your 33's and stock gears arent helping either.. Average for most of these trucks is around 15mpg.. Matt takes the lead with the claims of 26.2 which isnt possible with these trucks in any way shape or form.

If it isnt blown you have serious issues you need to find.. How are you calculating your MPG? Only time I could ever see that bad of mpg is if I am driving the truck seriously hard..

No 5.2 or 5.9 has ever gotten 26 MPG. I've gotten 20MPG on a 5.9 but that is not the norm. Usually it gets around 16MPG. And it gets 8-10 towing last we checked. Chipped or not, I could only see a 3.9L get 26MPG.
