WANT to turbo my 318
Power wise I just would like around 300_325 hp but I want around 425 tq I figure it will male what it wants. I'm use to a 2500lb car with 350 rwhp and 305tq so driveing this truck to me is slow its hard to merge onto 95 just getting to 55_65 mph is a struggle and I don't want to beat on it just to get there I do plain on running 35 inch tires so I know that will hurt my acceleration . This truck only sees snow and cold wether. I'm also just not a fan of supercharges and with the stroker kit I'd rather do a stroked 5.9l some day. I figure this little 318 and some boost should be enough for me now . I have seen a few threads that that guy Hamas5.2 (sp) chimed in I know that's not how to spell.that sorry lol well I'm off to work
Deffanitly interested to see how this turns out!
Swap the gearing and fix the KNOWN problems.. Be happy with it.. These trucks aint dragsters.. And they surely aint a little rice car like you guys are used to.. If you miss that go back to one..
Its just annoying seeing threads like this all time.. They pop up so often with people who say they want to do this and that and it never happens.. You can have a truck that will hold its own for not a whole lot of money just by doing a few things...Probably one of the biggest things that will wake these trucks up can be done for around 1500 bucks.. And they arent that involved like a turbo is...

When you letting the cat out of the bag? Is it $1500 pixie dust?
These engines do have cam sensors. MS3X will run it out of the box.
HX35 is too small. I'm using about the smallest turbo you'd want to use, an HX40. It's a 60mm compressor and the turbine is basically p-trim sized (I'm even using a P-trim turbine housing I machined to fit).
What about doing two small turbos? Just run twin turbos, two small ones like GT15s, one for each bank of cylinders. It'll simplify the tubing, too. Just one downturn from each turbo to the exhaust manifold. Plus, being small turbos, you'll get the high power and torque at lower RPMs.
Do gears, plenum, headers and exhaust along with timing chain and a tuner. Won't be a drag truck but will hold its own against trucks of the same era and some newer ones..
Thanks hahns5.2 I'll look into the ms3x . And I'll see if I can find a hx40 at a fair price does anyone have a good clutch company they recommend I'm really not use to domestic car company's and I'm not sure who to stay away from , allso diyautotune sell injectors there brand is desio (sp) I don't remember how they spell it but are they good I know dw gives you flow charts of the injectors you buy . My plan is to have this finished by fall time . I'm also doing the single because stainless steep pipe is not cheap with two turbos I'd do a duel ex plus then its doubble the intercooler pipeing ,have to buy two turbos plus oil lines , with a remote mount its not something I want high snow or mud plus a turbo and intake under the truck won't be good allso the turbo will heat up the trans more if it's too close .
