Default 1997 1500 4x4 speedometer

hi guys back with another question. So when i get up to around 70-80 mph my speedometer jumps up and down like to the speed Im going and the back up 5 or so mph any ideas? also if i punch it to get up to around 80 thr truck just complelty stops pulling for a good second or two then catchs up but if i hold the throttle down does the same thing right after that any help wohkd be apprciated still working out my PO problems. this is the last one i hope. thanks for all the help guys.

Speed sensor?? Im not sure if its on the trans or diff on a '97.

Is the motor reving and just not going anywhere (ie. slipping)? Or more like a dead pedal (hit the gas and nothing)? Manual or auto?

It's an automatic. it does perfect until about 80 then nothing like it just stops completly then trys to go again then the same thing. this all happens at full throttle. Will go past 80 fine when just going normally

no i haven't but been reading and thinking i should. should i also do the timing chain while Im at it?
