Default Truck dies while driving

My truck shuts off while im driving down the road. It doesnt have anything to do with the speed as it will do it backing out of the driveway or crusing down the interstate. I just put it in nutral and restart it without any issues. It does not do this when in park. I had thought the issue was my fuel tank being empty because the guage doesnt work propperly. If my guage stopped at the 1/2 tank mark it would be right on. So 1/2 is empty, 3/4 is 1/2 and full is full. I dont know where to look. What should I check?

I chased this problem for about a year. Replaced the Crank Sensor, Cam Sensor, PCM, then it ran fine for a few months. It happened again and wiggling the PCM connectors would allow it to restart sometimes. It got worse and worse, so the dealer replaced the PCM again. A month later it was dying again and the dealer said the PCM was "fried". They replaced the entire wiring harness, PCM, crank and cam sensors and it has been running fine. Probably spent what the truck was worth getting it fixed.

Mine would die randomly. It ended up being the CAM sensor. Sometimes it would start back up and other times it would take a while before it would start.

Well I did a bit more research and realized that it was only doing this when I let my foot off the gas, either to slow down or stop. This made me look at the throttle body. As it turns out the Idle Air Control Valve was stuck shut so when I let my foot off the gas the throttle plates would close and the IAC valve wouldn't open. The engine would die because it had no air. I replaced the IAC valve and my truck is back in action. My total cost was about $50 which included a can of throttle body cleaner. I also looked down the TB while there and I really need fix the plenum issue. There is a bunch of oil in the manifold. I'm going to be doing that in the next couple weeks.

Reviving an old(ish) thread since it's relevant.

I've had a similar problem for years. My truck dies occasionally when I let off the gas to make a turn. Recranks if I drop it in neutral. I replaced the IAC, the evap canister and it's control valve with no luck.

Any more ideas?
