+1 warranties don't cover your labor and downtime. I just had a six month old interstate go south because of a bad alt. cold weather also has an effect

If you got it from AutoZone, and I'm assuming since you called it a gold topped, it's the Duralast Gold. I work at one in West TN, and there is a 3 year free replacement, and it's pro-rated for the next 5 years after that. Bring it up there, have them test it, if it tests good, have them put it on the computerized charger, which will charge it, then test it. If the battery charges, holds that charge, and tests good, I'd be looking for parasitic draws on the truck. Good luck!

By the way, not all of us that work at AutoZone "act" like we know everything, nor claim we do. It's a parts store, NOT a shop or garage like everyone wants it to be. Do you judge all Dodge trucks by what one or two does? No. Why judge an entire chain of stores by probably the one in your town? Have a little respect for the people that have to deal with idiots that don't know their engine size, or what year their cars are all day.

You're forgiven, lol It just gets on my nerves when people judge all by one. You know? Especially when there are people in there working that are actually car enthusiasts and not just working there because they were hiring. By the way, where did you get your Herculined panels done? I can't find a single place in West TN that will do them.

I have a terrible time at oreilly's where I live. Guy'(S) didn't know diesels only came in 2500/3500, called it a cummings, and asked me vehicle trim for a starter... Ive forgotten most of the ridiculous comments

Ive had my best luck at napa and some luck at carquest. Im guessing it probably differs at every store
