this times a million. i'm on the advance auto side of the line but people act all shocked when i tell them that "no, i can't install your alternator or your water pump for you." Or get completely offended when I can't tell them precisely why there car is loosing coolant or is misfiring or whatever the hell is wrong. To avoid getting completely off topic, I've never heard anything negative about autozone's batteries and I've def seen some advance auto gold batteries come back defective in less than a year. You probably just got a dud, it happens...atleast you got the warranty!

P.S. advance's batteries are prorated for 7 years lol had to throw that one in there

@RareColorRam1995, I don't have a paper receipt, will I have much trouble getting them to swap it if it is bad?

I have about four batteries from AZ, and never had a problem. But there are only a couple manufacturers for batteries, they brand them acording to seller.

I suspect the same things mentioned by HeyYou as these tend to be problems and are typically unnoticeable. Check KO battery draw to see if it is correct, but I suspect it is too high. And a freshly charged battery should be more than 12.3 volts.

Take in and have tested, but see if there is something drawing the current, or a new battery will do the same thing at some point...

the new battery fires it up much easier than the old one ever did, even when the other one was brand new. new battery reads 12.60 exactly when not running and everything is perfect, i believe i just got a lemon on the first battery, no juice was being drawn from either batteries

Check the Key Off current draw, or you will have the same problem.

I laugh everytime someone bashes AZ. I spent over $5K at my local AZ, and got excellent service. Store Manager and I got to be good friends, and all the staff wlecomed me by name every time I walked in. They would often ask my advice for a customer they were working with while I would be there if they did not know the answer. I also saw people get upset when the store clerks could not replace parts for them. Some people are idiots for sure.

You cannot judge one store on the basis of another. I just hope that the AZ here in the Austin area is as good as the one in Eastland, or I will change. And if a person buys the cheapest product, you cannot expect it to last as well as a premium grade product. Regardless of where you buy, get the best quality you can afford.

I always got excellent service at the AutoZone in Fitzgerald. Haven't needed to visit the one here yet.

Huh... Both autozones near me are not anything like that, I called up one to ask about front steering u joints and he asked me what rear end I had, I explained that they were the front u joints on the front axle and he gave me some part numbers for ones he had in stock and I looked them up on their website and they were for the back. The autozones here are great if you just look up what you need on the website and call up and ask if they have that particular part number, I love the lifetime garentee they have, I wish the ones here were more like the ones you have

They are getting ready to open a new AZ in Manor (on my way home from the office). Still have paper on windows. I kind of shocked worker in one Austin store - he could not find what I needed, so I swung the display around, reached for the mouse, and found the part. Also used cross reference to find another part. He was shocked and asked if I had worked at AZ before. I told him I was a "Professional Customer."

It is all about the quality of people they can hire. Develop a relationship with the store manager and the guys (or gals) that seem to be regular when you visit. This goes for anyplace. The guys in Eastland always showed an interest in what ever vehcile I was working on and how it was going.

And on warranty, if the choice is a product with 90 days or lifetime - it is a no brainer for me.
