Default Where to buy good Diff. Gears

I've been looking around for some 4.56 gears but I can't seem to find them for the 2nd gens, every site seems to just have them for the 02 and up. I have an 01 5.9 1500 http://www.riversidegear.com has a nice complete kit but only for 02 and up, as well as airram. Also my installer said to stay away from the Motive gears because there a pain to get in but it seems thats the only brand there is for these trucks. Anyone have any experiance with any other brands or know where to get them for the 2nd gens?

Just a BTW, you'll need thick cut gears with a stock carrier in the front diff or a different carrier altogether.

You could also check with 4wheelparts as they should carry G2 for at least the D44.

Let us know what you did!

This thread is good timing for me... my C9.25 rear has started to whine at 156k, with a little pinion seal leakage.

I've been reading lots here (and all over the web), and whilst there seems to be those with good and bad experiences with all brands, Yukon and Motive seem to be the most popular... it is not totally clear as to where they are now actually made, but it seems that it might be Korea for Yukon, and Italy for Motive.

My biggest concern is getting a quiet gear set... it use to be that the wind noise off the mirrors was the loudest thing at highway speeds... now I can't even hear that for the axle whine.

What is the consensus here?

Go with the Chrysler OEM gear set then.

A properly set up motive, or yukon, should be silent. If it whines/howls, it is out of spec.
