Default weird hard start (v10)

last night after unloading a bed full of coal my truck wouldnt crank... was listening to some tunes so i figured i ran down the battery. hooked the wifes truck up and juiced it. cranked over... sputtered... wouldnt stay running. exhaust smelled TERRIBLE! finally got it to run but it still feels like it wants to die when i let off the throttle. any ideas?

V-10 is DIS, (distributorless ignition) you have a selection of coil packs, and two modules under the hood... I suspect one of your modules has failed, thus, no spark on 4 or 6 cylinders.

Verify spark at the plugs, see where you have it, and possibly, where you don't. May just be one bad coil pack, or, may be bad modules.

Be careful when testing for spark though, those coil packs pack a real wallop......
