Default E- Brake help! Damn Salty Michigan Roads...

I had My wife drive my truck home the other night and she parked our 1998 Dodge ram 1500 on our steep icy driveway... Not thinking she pushed the E-brake in and let it sit. A couple days later I went out to drive the truck and low and behold I tried to release the e-brake with the lever and nothing would release... So I got a hold of one of my friends who is a GM mechanic (I don't know a mopar mechanic) and he suggested that I just cut the e-brake line and it should disengage. I then cut it and it's still engaged... Any suggestions would be great at this time. Thanks

learn to drive in reverse till you wear enough pad down to get the drums off.

why can't you get it in reverse? park brakes don't work in reverse. you could try just starting the truck and stand on the brake pedal a couple of times. it might loosed the breaks up a tiny bit.

Default your last post got me to thinking...

I forgot we had really rough snowy weather the night she drove it... The biggest problem looks as though she had the truck engaged in 4 wheel... then at some point it dis-engaged into neutral so it threw everything out of wack... I appreciate your sarcasm at this point it got me thinking... cheers

where did you cut the cable? if you cut them right behind the drum you might be able to get them to release.

Default I cut them both behind...

The drums popped the truck back into 2 wheel and were rolling again... Like i said before you got me thinking earlier... So i went out and drove it down the street no problem... should I be alarmed about anything going forward?

if the park break pads are still engaged the truck may not want to go forward. if it feels normal driving forward then they most likely popped free.
