Have you checked for spark on all 8 lately? Fuel? Sounds like guy who did your dizzy phukt something up if it ran like crap shortly after. Take a timing light to it and check that it's not completely out of whack. Check the essentials then ask for help.
Someone needs to chill. Plenum is a reasonable question to ask!

Partial check, but reasonable indicator, depending on amount of oil!

Lurking must not equal learning....lol.....

Ok the youngest motor for these trucks is now 11 years old, so the pcv system has been putting oil in the intake for that long. Next as this is a open plenum intake there are air vortexes inside the intake that will pick up that oil and deposit it in the same spot all the time, hence the oil pooling areas. There is only one way to tell if the plenum gasket is leaking and that's to remove the intake and inspect it. HeyYou is right the leaking gasket will play havoc to certain parts of the motor. To me it's a 50/50 call if the gasket is leaking.

PCV may be a greater influence on thse than most realize. After putting a catch can between my PCV and intake, I dump about 4 - 5 teaspoons of oil each 3000 mile oil change......and this is with new PCV from dealer. WIthout catch can, this would be sucking back into intake.

I remove TB back at thed end of November and took a peek. Plenum plate is clean! Alum plate install about a year prior to that.

Thanks everyone for the replys. I forgot to mention that it has new plugs, wires, and up stream o2 sensor. The dealer is the one that did the sinc on the dizzy and they put it at zero. I have not checked intake gasket yet. They led me to believe the chain was off a tooth but it was not. It just had a lot of slop. Any help is greatly appreciated so keep the replys comin lol

Have you by chance done a compression test on this motor? Might be a good time to do one. There is a TSB on spark plug lead routing have you checked that as well?

Someone please explain to me how checking the timing with a light is going to do anything when the PCM controls timing. My plenum comment was based on spark knock which Even lurking will tell you that a plenum plenum will cause. Now idling rough can be a list of things but the op has already went through most of those, HOWEVER a vacuum leak can cause that. It could be a couple spots causing this, I had on on the front of my tb. On the other hand a leaking plenum is what..........? A vacuum leak. I used a really small light and an extendable mirror in the intake and I could see where the gasket was blown out. Now when I got it off it was worse than what it appeared but never the less when somebody asks for help checking the common problems first can make life alot easier.

Haven't checked the fuel pressure. Didn't really think of it i guess and cap and rotor look good, guess it wouldn't hurt to change them. What should the pressure be and would it cause my symptoms?
