I'd love to hear if anyone actually broke any and what brand....might help weed through hear say of whats good or not.

Anyone with any gear stories... before OP goes and buys gears....I got a feelin they are pretty tough to destroy...especially with the use the OP will be given them.

That's what I was thinking. I was taking a look at them last night and they seem like they're the way to go

Randys Ring an Pinion seems to be out of stock on all thick cut gears for the dana 44 which is what you need without buying a new carrier for the front...bummer...cost isnt much more than the G2's from 4wheelparts so if Yukons the way to go then no reason not too but you'd have to ad the cost of a new carrier for the front or find em somewhere else...

And im not sure what the deal is but it looks like for the rear 9.25 he only has up to 4.56 gears?

You will have a better chance of breaking 4.88 gears no matter who makes them have a look a the pinion gear size, very small ez to snap off and even ezer to strip the teeth of the ring gear.

Well I think I've decided on going with 8inch total lift with 37's and 18" rims. 4.88 gears seem like the way to go. I plan on having this truck for at least 6 years so an axle swap to 1 tons may be in its future. Thanks for all your help

I was doing some searching and i came across these.

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/20-FUEL-HOSTA...t_12582wt_1271

If i were to do a 1 ton axle swap regear to 4.88 and 8 inch lift. Would it work or would i have to get a long arm lift.

Anything can "work". lol

What are you going for with this amount of lift and rubber size? Mudding, trails, rocks, snow, mallz?

No matter what the control arms will need some lengthening for pure clearance reasons.
