well im gonna check around and see what the cheapest i can get it re-geared for. If i get it re geared, will i be able to run 37's without a problem or will i need more stuff? and second off what kind of lift should i get? rough country or tuff country? this is 90% on road 10% off road, which i mean just hitting mud holes aka small stuff. BUDGET BUILD.

Then don't do 37's. Stick with 35's max. The larger tires will stress the half-ton axles... they are really only recommended for up to 35" tires on a full sized truck..... With the 37's, you will be going thru hub/bearing units, and balljoints like there is no tomorrow. Even 35's are going to shorten their lifespan.

How much are you willing to spend TOTAL on this particular project? Gears are going to be over a grand no matter how you slice it, unless you can install them yourself. Lift is going to be close to that as well... unless you stay under 3" on the suspension, and do the rest with a body lift.

just make sure with that "budget" lift kit that you get all the things to get that steering geometry as close to stock as possible....as in the track bar relocation bracket and the dropped pitman arm. And a nice beefy steering stabilizer is also a good idea. And while you're doing the lift its a good idea to check for play in all the other front end parts. You DO NOT want that death wobble, trust me

Default Rough Country

(2001 dodge ram 1500 5.9l 360 4x4 ext)

Im buying a 5' suspenson lift and i wanted to know if there right for my application or has anyone bought a lift from them?

85% on road 15% off road such as just hitting some mud in a field or back yard

$759, any other lifts that are better for that price, tuff country?

Only thing that may be better is getting a skyjacker kit, however it's more expensive. If your gonna be running 35s make sure you regear the diffs to 4.56 or 4.88.
