Default 98 ram 1500 horn problem

Hey yall so figured I'd try to get some advice. My horn wont work when pushed on the steering column, however when I lock my truck using the key fob the horn will beep. I have inspection coming up and this is one of the things they check on so have to get something rigged up. Any ideas? Thanks!

Clock spring may have bitten the big one..... grab the 01 service manual from the faq section, look in the wiring diagrams for where the wires for the horn come out of the column, and test the horn switches.... see if you get anything there.

Awesome thanks so much for the reply. I did hear that when the clock spring goes out it takes all the wires with it, and my cruise control still works. Is it possible for the cruise control and all buttons associated with that to work and the clock spring to still have gone out?

My horn quit working last fall and it was a loose relay connection in the PDC box. Took a side cutter and bent the prongs outward slightly...reinserted and got horn. Check the obvious fuse also.

Which fuse would it be? I found the relay but have been looking everywhere for the actual fuse. Also tried switching the horn relay for another and it still would not work. I figure since the horn works when used with the key fob it must be somethin with the clock spring or hopefully a fuse. Thanks again for the responses yall!

If the horn works with the key fob, it's gotta be something in the steering column causing the trouble.
