Sometimes though, it aint so much the years as it is the miles
I still have the factory clamps on my truck, and screw type one on my dad's, no probs on either. I wonder why cold temps would cause leaks though...

Close to 4,000,000 miles and 77 years old.
I guess that makes me old.

On a cold start within 5 minutes the top radiator hose has a great amount of pressure in it. is this normal right after startup when its cold? Im hoping its not a headgasket leak, as the truck runs fine. I checked for airbubbles in the coolant tank and didnt see any. bad t-stat? the truck has never over heated and the temp stays constant. This is why i think it leaks when its cold because theres a great amount of pressure. shouldnt the hose be squeezable when its not at its normal temp?

If it develops pressure right away, and ISN'T at operating temp yet.... you have a problem. That would certainly explain why it wants to leak though.....
